We don’t have luxury to give you time – Nottingham Forest fans tell Awoniyi

Kelvin Wilson, a former Nottingham Forest defender, has issued a stark warning to Taiwo Awoniyi, the Super Eagles central forward, emphasizing the dwindling patience among the club’s supporters.

Awoniyi’s absence from eleven Premier League matches due to injury has had a significant impact on Forest’s performance this season.

With just one start in the last three games, the Nigerian international’s fitness is under scrutiny as manager Nuno Espirito endeavors to balance his playing time.

Having only managed to score six league goals thus far, Awoniyi finds himself under increasing pressure to deliver on the pitch.

“Can we afford to be patient? Time is slipping away, and we need him to step up now. Despite his injuries, the pressure is mounting, and we require him to perform,” Wilson expressed to Nottingham Forest News.

“In an ideal scenario, if we were comfortably mid-table, we could gradually ease him into the game, perhaps giving him the last 20 minutes to build up his fitness. But we cannot afford such luxuries now; we need him to start finding the back of the net.”

With Nottingham Forest teetering just three points above the relegation zone, the urgency for Awoniyi to make a meaningful impact on the team’s fortunes has never been more critical.

The club’s supporters are restless, demanding tangible results as they navigate through a precarious position in the league standings.
