“Stop chasing clout, drop hit” – BBNaija Doyin slams Wizkid

Big Brother Naija alumna, Doyinsola Anuoluwapo David, popularly known as Doyin, has recently taken aim at the renowned Nigerian singer, Wizkid, for what she perceives as his pursuit of attention on social media platforms.

In a fiery response to Wizkid’s recent social media activity, where he threw subtle jabs at fellow musicians Davido and Don Jazzy, Doyin criticized the Starboy boss for allegedly seeking validation rather than focusing on producing quality music.

Expressing her discontent, Doyin particularly condemned Wizkid’s perceived lack of respect towards Don Jazzy, a stalwart figure in the Nigerian music industry.

Taking to her Instagram account, she made her stance unequivocally clear: “Don Jazzy is still the JayZ of the Nigerian music industry. If you try to disrespect him, it just shows your head is not correct. No be to dey chase clout, drop hit!”

Adding her voice to the chorus of disapproval, reality TV star and media personality, Tacha, issued a stern warning to Wizkid, emphasizing that any form of disparagement or disregard towards Don Jazzy would not be tolerated.

Tacha, in a video message shared across her social media platforms, highlighted Don Jazzy’s immense contributions to the Nigerian music scene, asserting that without his influence, a significant portion of the Afrobeats industry would cease to exist.

Tacha’s impassioned defense of Don Jazzy echoed sentiments shared by many within the music community, underlining the producer’s pivotal role in shaping the landscape of Nigerian entertainment.

“No Don Jazzy slander will be tolerated,” Tacha asserted. “Don Jazzy’s impacts on the entertainment industry can never be overemphasised.”

Moreover, she emphasized the far-reaching impact of Don Jazzy’s mentorship, citing his role in nurturing global superstars and his unwavering support for artists across all levels of prominence.

As tensions escalated, Don Jazzy himself entered the fray, responding to Wizkid’s perceived slight by taking a decisive action: unfollowing the Starboy boss on Instagram.

This move, while subtle, sent a clear message that Don Jazzy was not willing to entertain any form of disrespect.

In the midst of the social media storm, the Nigerian music community found itself divided, with supporters of both Wizkid and Don Jazzy passionately defending their respective icons.

Yet, beneath the surface, a deeper conversation emerged about the importance of mutual respect and recognition within the industry.

Ultimately, Doyin, Tacha, and Don Jazzy’s unified stance served as a reminder that in an industry driven by creativity and collaboration, chasing clout should never take precedence over the artistry and respect that lie at its core.
