‘Nobody Can Challenge Us in 2027’ – Wike Asserts Dominance

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, exudes confidence as he boldly declares that his political faction will face no challengers in the upcoming 2027 elections.

Expressing his conviction during a thanksgiving service hosted by Senator Barinada Mpigi in Koroma, Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State, Wike emphasized the formidable nature of his coalition.

“With the forces we have, I don’t know of anybody who can challenge us. I can tell you it is like tomorrow is 2027. For me, it is still very far, I can’t wait,” Wike proclaimed, exuding an air of assurance.

Drawing attention to the rare unity within his party, Wike highlighted the harmonious coexistence of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leadership in Rivers State.

He underscored this cohesion as a source of envy for adversaries who seek to sow discord.

“And that is what many people don’t like. When they see people united and working together, they find how to make sure they are divided but since we know, we have refused to be divided,” Wike remarked, emphasizing their resilience against divisive tactics.

Wike took pride in the political landscape of Rivers State, where divergent parties could secure victories simultaneously in presidential and legislative elections, a phenomenon he described as uncommon and indicative of their collective strength.

“This is the only state where the leading party will win for president, the opposition party will take the national assembly in an election that was done at the same time, same minute, and same hour. That is uncommon,” he asserted, showcasing the political dynamics unique to Rivers State.

Beyond political bravado, Wike also called for support for President Bola Tinubu’s economic reform policies, acknowledging the challenges inherent in transforming the nation’s fortunes within a limited timeframe.

He urged patience and reflection on past decisions to navigate the complexities of governance effectively.

“God in His infinite mercies will continue to give us the strength to work together to support Mr. President. So many people in this country hardly remember yesterday, we are in a rush – we have a problem, but have you asked yourself how was yesterday? Decisions of Mr. President, if we are patient by the end of the day, we will get to where we want to get to,” Wike articulated, advocating for a measured approach to national progress.

The event saw the presence of notable dignitaries including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Minister of Works Dave Umahi, Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly Martin Amaewhule, among others, underscoring the significance of Wike’s assertions in the political landscape.
