In a resolute declaration, the Executive Committee and stakeholders of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the North East zone have emphatically reaffirmed the expulsion of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections.
This reaffirmation was encapsulated in a comprehensive communique issued at the conclusion of the North East executive and stakeholders meeting held in Bauchi on a Friday.
The reaffirmation of Kwankwaso’s expulsion underscores the seriousness with which the NNPP North East is addressing internal matters and upholding the principles guiding the party’s operations.
The decision, rooted in the party’s commitment to maintaining discipline and internal cohesion, reflects the consensus reached during the strategic meeting.
In addition to addressing internal party affairs, the NNPP North East also voiced dissatisfaction with the recent judgment by the Appeal Court that led to the removal of Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
The communique, read to journalists by the NNPP National Vice Chairman North, Dr Babayo Liman, expressed the region’s discontent with the court’s decision and conveyed unwavering support for the governor.
Dr Liman called for unity among NNPP members nationwide, emphasizing the importance of solidarity in navigating challenging political landscapes.
Further asserting their influence, the North East NNPP executive committee and stakeholders collectively endorsed the dissolution of the Abba Kawu Ali-led National Working Committee (NWC) of the NNPP.
This decision reflects the region’s commitment to organizational restructuring and aligning the party with its strategic objectives.
The meeting also served as a platform to extend a vote of confidence to the founder and life member of the Board of Trustees, Dr Boniface Aniebonan.
This affirmation recognizes his contributions to the NNPP and underscores the importance of experienced leadership in guiding the party’s trajectory.
In a demonstration of organizational coherence, the meeting confirmed the election of Dr. Tope Aluko as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Engr. Mohammed Babayo Abdullahi as the Secretary.
These appointments underscore the commitment to leadership stability and a strategic vision for the NNPP.
Additionally, the appointment of the new NWC under the leadership of Dr Agbo Major received reaffirmation, showcasing the region’s alignment with the party’s administrative choices and the confidence placed in the capabilities of the newly constituted leadership.
As the NNPP North East takes decisive steps to solidify its internal structures and address key concerns, the reaffirmation of Kwankwaso’s expulsion serves as a reflection of the party’s commitment to internal discipline.
The expressions of discontent over the Kano governor’s removal further highlight the region’s engagement with broader political developments.
