Ned Nwoko’s Senior Legislative Aide, Barrister Chris Agidy, Abducted and Killed; Police Recover Body

Tragic news has emerged as Barrister Chris Agidy, the Senior Legislative Aide (SLA) to Senator Ned Nwoko representing Delta North, has been confirmed dead after being abducted.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, disclosed this distressing development to Reporters on Tuesday.

The unfortunate incident harks back to November 2023 when a harrowing abduction took place in the Galadimawa area of the nation’s capital, snatching at least 19 individuals from the sanctity of their homes.

Among the captives was Barrister Chris Agidy, whose fate has now been tragically sealed.

Initial reports had hinted at the grim toll of the abduction, suggesting that 12 of the captives had met untimely ends.

However, the specifics of the casualties remained shrouded in ambiguity as Senator Ned Nwoko and security agencies mobilized tirelessly in pursuit of rescue efforts.

Confirmation of Barrister Agidy’s demise came on Tuesday, delivered by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer.

It was revealed that the aide had fallen victim to one of the most-wanted kidnappers plaguing the nation’s capital, Samaila Wakili.

Wakili’s apprehension on February 24 in the Sardauna Forest of Nasarawa State marked a significant breakthrough for law enforcement.

The FCT PPRO elaborated that upon Wakili’s capture, he divulged crucial information leading authorities to the location of Barrister Chris Agidy’s remains.

Subsequently, law enforcement recovered the deceased’s body, which was then deposited at the Gwagwalada General Hospital.

The loss of Barrister Agidy underscores the pervasive threat posed by criminal elements in the country, particularly in the realm of kidnapping and violent crimes.

His untimely demise serves as a poignant reminder of the urgent need for concerted efforts in bolstering security measures and combating criminality.

As the nation grapples with the aftermath of this tragic incident, authorities must redouble their efforts to ensure justice for the victims and to stem the tide of violence that continues to afflict communities across Nigeria.

The memory of Barrister Chris Agidy serves as a solemn call to action in the ongoing battle to safeguard lives and restore peace and security to the nation.
