Nigerian singer Azeez Fashola, widely known as Naira Marley, and show promoter Sam Larry have been discharged from custody by the Lagos State Police Command.
The release follows the duo meeting the stipulated bail requirements.
The confirmation of Naira Marley and Sam Larry’s release was made by Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command.
The Magistrate’s Court in Yaba, Lagos State, had granted the pair bail on November 6, setting the sum at N20 million with three sureties.
The legal proceedings stemmed from their alleged involvement in the circumstances surrounding the death of the popular singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad.
Naira Marley and Sam Larry were arraigned on October 6 and subsequently remanded.
Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun mandated the defendants to submit their passports and instructed them to report weekly to the State Criminal Investigation Department at Panti.
Confirming their release, Hundeyin stated, “Naira Marley and Sammy Larry, having met their bail conditions, have been released.”
