Lady Found Dead in Lagos Hotel, Boyfriend Vanishes

A yet-to-be-identified female adult was discovered dead in a hotel located in Morogbo, in the Badagry area of Lagos State.

The grim incident unfolded on Friday, November 31, sparking a chain of events that has left the community in shock and the authorities probing the mysterious circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

According to reports, the deceased had checked into the hotel with a male partner.

Both guests arrived at the establishment in the morning of the fateful day, paying for a short rest.

However, what transpired thereafter remains shrouded in mystery and intrigue.

The unsettling discovery was made when the hotel receptionist, preparing to allocate the room to another customer later in the day, found the room locked.

Concerned about the unusual silence emanating from within, the attendant used a spare key to unlock the door, only to be met with a harrowing sight – the lifeless body of the female guest lying on the bed, devoid of any signs of life.

A resident in the community, who spoke on the condition of anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the incident, provided further details.

The two guests had arrived in the morning, checked in, and seemingly vanished from public view.

It wasn’t until around 10 pm that the hotel staff, attempting to retrieve the key to the room, realized something was amiss. Despite their attempts to communicate with the occupants, there was no response.

Resorting to using a spare key, the hotel workers were met with a shocking scene.

The lifeless body of the female guest lay on the bed, unclothed, and covered with a bedspread. Disturbingly, her clothes and phone were missing, adding layers of mystery to the already grim situation.

Upon making the discovery, the hotel owner was alerted, and a search ensued to locate the whereabouts of the male guest. Unfortunately, the receptionist had failed to record their details upon arrival, complicating efforts to trace the missing partner.

The absence of CCTV cameras at the hotel further exacerbated the challenge of identifying and locating the individual.

The gravity of the situation prompted the director of the hotel to report the incident to the police that same night.

The law enforcement officers arrived, documented the scene, and removed the deceased’s body.

The investigation took a significant turn when it was revealed that the receptionist did not record the details of the guests, leaving a crucial gap in identifying the male partner.

Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed that the owner of the hotel, along with the receptionist, has been arrested.

The case is set to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, signaling the commencement of a thorough inquiry into the mysterious circumstances surrounding the tragic discovery.
