In a social media uproar that unfolded on Thursday, a hair vendor known as DBeauty Mogul took to Instablog to accuse Josephine Otabor, popularly known as Phyna and a former Big Brother Naija winner, of allegedly refusing to return a wig that was supposedly rented for a movie premiere.
The controversy centers around the claim that Phyna failed to adhere to the agreed-upon return date, raising eyebrows and igniting a heated exchange between the two parties.
According to the message posted on Instablog, the vendor asserted that Phyna had rented the wig specifically for the movie premiere of “A Tribe Called Judah” on Sunday, December 10, 2023.
The terms of the agreement dictated that the wig should have been returned the following day, on Monday, December 11, 2023. However, the vendor alleges that, as of the time of the message, Phyna had not fulfilled her part of the agreement, leaving the vendor in a predicament.
The message from DBeauty Mogul, posted on social media, pleaded for assistance, stating, “Phyna rented my wig for the movie premiere of A Tribe Called Judah on Sunday (10th, Dec 2023).
She ought to return the wig on Monday (11th, Dec 2023). Till this minute, she hasn’t returned my wigs. Can you please help in any way.”
When asked about proof to substantiate the claims, the vendor responded in the affirmative, suggesting that evidence existed to support the accusation.
In response to the allegations, Phyna took to her Instagram story to dismiss the claims, attributing them to “clout chasers and blackmailers.”
Expressing frustration with the recurring stories about her, she wrote, “Every day different stories. Now it’s clout chasers and blackmailers…….. y’all need to do better……..Phyna the air everybody in Nigeria dy breath…… make Una rest small for this whole nonsense. Even me I don tire.”
The conflicting narratives have sparked a social media storm, with fans and followers divided over the authenticity of the claims.
The incident highlights the power dynamics and potential pitfalls associated with public figures engaging in business transactions, especially when it involves lending or renting items for high-profile events.
As the controversy unfolds, the online community eagerly awaits further developments, keen to see whether evidence will surface to substantiate the vendor’s claims or if this incident will be resolved amicably between the parties involved.
The story serves as a reminder of the challenges public figures face in navigating both their personal and professional lives in the digital age, where every move is scrutinized and debated on social media platforms.
