Emir of Kano Calls on First Lady Oluremi Tinubu to Advocate for Hunger and Insecurity Issues

During the opening ceremony of a faculty of law at a private university in Kano, the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, seized the opportunity to address pertinent national issues, directing his message to First Lady Oluremi Tinubu.

In a candid exchange, the Emir urged Mrs. Tinubu to relay critical concerns regarding hunger, starvation, and insecurity to her husband, President Bola Tinubu.

Acknowledging the multitude of channels available for communicating with the government, the Emir emphasized the unique influence and access Mrs. Tinubu possesses as the First Lady.

He underscored the urgency of addressing the escalating levels of hunger and starvation across the nation, stressing that while the issue predates the current administration, its severity demands immediate attention.

“The prevalence of hunger and starvation in our country requires urgent intervention,” the Emir conveyed through an interpreter, highlighting the gravity of the situation.

“While the government is aware of these challenges, your direct communication with the President can provide invaluable insight into the realities faced by ordinary Nigerians.”

Moreover, the Emir emphasized the pressing need to tackle the pervasive issue of insecurity, urging concerted efforts to mitigate threats to national security.

While acknowledging that the current administration inherited these challenges, he stressed the importance of proactive measures to safeguard citizens’ lives and property.

“The scourge of insecurity continues to plague our nation, demanding decisive action from the government,” the Emir remarked, urging Mrs. Tinubu to advocate for comprehensive strategies to address the root causes of insecurity and restore peace and stability.

In addition to addressing hunger and insecurity, the Emir raised concerns about the proposed relocation of key government agencies, including the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and departments of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to Lagos.

He called for transparency and clarity from the government regarding the rationale behind such decisions, emphasizing the need for effective communication with the Nigerian populace.

“The proposed relocation of critical government agencies has sparked apprehension among our people,” the Emir noted, urging the government to engage in robust dialogue and provide adequate explanations to alleviate concerns and misconceptions surrounding the issue.

Furthermore, the Emir commended the Renewed Hope Initiative Pet Program spearheaded by Mrs. Tinubu and encouraged its full implementation.

He highlighted the program’s potential to uplift the less privileged and marginalized segments of society, emphasizing the importance of empowering vulnerable populations to break free from the cycle of poverty and deprivation.

As the nation grapples with multifaceted challenges, the Emir’s call to action serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility to prioritize the welfare and security of all Nigerians.

Through collaborative efforts and effective governance, the nation can aspire to overcome its obstacles and achieve sustainable progress and prosperity for all.
