‘Conduct Biafra Referendum Instead of Demolishing Igbo Properties,’ Urges Ejimakor to FG and Lagos Govt

Aloy Ejimakor, the special counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), issued a call on Monday, urging those advocating for the expulsion of the Igbo people from Lagos State or Nigeria to organize a Biafra referendum.

In a post on X, Ejimakor emphasized the need to halt the demolition of Igbo properties, suggesting that a referendum would be a more appropriate and democratic approach.

Ejimakor’s X post stated, “If you want Igbos out of Lagos or Nigeria, stop #demolishing their properties; that’s cowardly. Instead, do a referendum on Biafra and brace for the resounding result.

Until then, stop turning Nigeria into an open-air prison for Igbos. From the pogrom to now, Igbos have had enough.”

Recent claims have surfaced, alleging that the Lagos State government is deliberately targeting and demolishing markets and buildings predominantly owned by Igbos.

Former Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Emenike is among those affected, asserting that his house was demolished by the Lagos State government despite receiving proper approvals from relevant authorities.
