Rivers APC Executives Dissolution Allegedly Orchestrated to Spite Amaechi, Claims Party Chieftain

Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a prominent figure within the All Progressives Congress (APC), has strongly criticized the dissolution of the party’s executives in Rivers State.

In a scathing allegation, he contends that the move is a deliberate attempt by the APC leadership to hand over control of the party in Rivers to Governor Nyesom Wike, purportedly as a means of spiting Chibuike Amaechi, the former governor of Rivers State.

The National Working Committee of the APC officially inaugurated the members of the caretaker committee for the Rivers State chapter, just two days after dissolving the existing executives.

In a statement released on Saturday, Eze asserted that the dissolution is part of a larger plot aimed at embarrassing Chibuike Amaechi, a key political figure in the state.

According to Eze, the orchestration of this plan involves President Bola Tinubu and the National Chairman of the party, Umar Ganduje.

Eze claimed that the alleged scheme is intended to hand over the reins of the state chapter to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, effectively sidelining Amaechi and his team.

He cautioned the orchestrators, referring to them as a “cabal,” to be wary of Governor Wike, whom he described as a political chameleon.

Expressing his sentiments, Eze stated, “I am happy to note that both Tinubu and Ganduje have suffered and tasted the bitter pills of Wike in most of his attempts to decimate the party, and to hand over the party structure to him and his agents is nothing but sheer wickedness and unreasonableness because it will definitely backfire.”

He further emphasized that the appointments made so far by Tinubu and his government have seemingly favored Wike, who, in the past, fiercely contested against the Rivers APC, using the state’s resources to assert his influence.

As the political landscape in Rivers State undergoes these contentious changes, the allegations of political maneuvers and power plays add complexity to the already intricate dynamics within the APC.

The coming days will likely witness reactions and counter-reactions, shedding light on the true motives behind the dissolution and the subsequent caretaker committee appointment.
