In a significant triumph against insurgency, the troops of Operation Hadarin Daji have successfully neutralized a notorious terrorist leader identified as Sainaje from Katsina State and rescued 20 kidnap victims.
Captain Yahaya Ibrahim, the Information Officer of Operation Hadarin Daji, disclosed the details of this successful mission in a statement released on Tuesday via the Nigerian Army X account.
The statement affirmed the continued success of the Joint Task Force North West Operation Hadarin Daji troops in their dry season clearance operations within their areas of responsibility in Zamfara State.
The recent accomplishment involved the rescue of 20 kidnap victims, with two terrorists, including the infamous terrorist leader Sainaje, neutralized during the operation.
Conducted on the 29th of January 2024, the operations targeted terrorists’ enclaves at Rukudawa, Dumburum, Tsanu, Birnin Tsaba, Magare, and Shamushalle in the general areas of Zurmi and Birnin Magaji Local Government Areas of Zamfara State.
According to Ibrahim, the troops exhibited remarkable efficiency as they destroyed all discovered terrorists’ enclaves, forcing the insurgents, including a notorious terrorist kingpin identified as Sule, to flee their camps during intense engagement with the proactive troops.
In a separate incident during the operation, troops successfully rescued two victims who had been abducted by the terrorists along Shinkafi-Isa Road in Zamfara State.
The captors abandoned their victims amidst a gun duel with the highly motivated troops, whose swift response ensured the successful rescue of the abducted individuals.
All rescued victims have been handed over to the appropriate authorities to facilitate their reunion with their respective families.
The operation underscores the commitment of Operation Hadarin Daji to eliminating terrorist threats and ensuring the safety of citizens in Zamfara State.
